2. Do I need a referral to Occupational Therapy?
No! We do not need a GP or Paediatrician referral for your child to been seen by an Occupational Therapist. If your child has been referred by your GP, school or another health professional we can work with them to ensure we keep them up to date on your child’s goal areas and progress towards these.

If you would like to explore Medicare funding options, please talk to your child’s GP.
3. Can I claim Medicare rebates for Occuaptional Therapy sessions?
Yes! Block by Block OT is registered to provide services under various Medicare plans. Please reach out to your child’s GP or Paediatrician as Occupational Therapy services funded by Medicare can only be provided when a referral has been made by an eligible medical practitioner, generally together with the development of a treatment plan. Your child’s GP or Paediatrician will need to register your child’s plan with Medicare before you will be able to claim a rebate for an Occupational Therapy session with us.

Please note that while you can claim a Medicare rebate, there will be a gap in payment which will depend on the type of Medicare referral you have received. There will be some out of pocket expenses.
4. Can I use NDIS funding for Occupational Therapy sessions?
Block by Block OT is not a NDIS registered provider (yet!). If your child has a NDIS plan that is Self-Managed or Plan Managed you are able to use NDIS funding for Occupational Therapy sessions.
We are unable to offer services to children whose NDIS plan is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

We are happy to assist you navigating NDIS. This might look like support with completing an ‘Access Request Form’ to apply to the NDIS or writing a report to support in advocating for your child’s needs.
5. Where do Occupational Therapy sessions take place?
Tahlia can meet your child in their natural environments within the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore. Occupational Therapy sessions might be at home, childcare, Kindergarten or school.
Tahlia provides online (telehealth) sessions for children and families in regional, rural and remote parts of NSW.
6. What if I need to cancel an Occuaptional Therapy session?
These things happen! If you are unable to attend a session we ask that you please let us know with as much notice as possible to avoid a potential cancellation charge.

Block by Block OT will provide the cancellation policy to families at the time of booking.
